Best Hairstyles for the Rainy Days
1. The Fishtail Braid Hairstyle
Wear your hair in a fishtail braid when the skies are overcast. This hairstyle holds up really well against spring showers. (Tweet this)
How do you do the fishtail braid?
First, pull your hair behind the shoulders and divide it into 2 parts. Next step is to take a small outer piece from one of the sections and cross it over to the other side adding it on the inside. Do the same cross you just did on the other side of the section. Keep on crossing small pieces of hair from 1 section over to the inside of the other. Stop braiding when you have 2-3 inches of hair left at the bottom then secure the braid using an elastic. Here’s a hint. The smaller the pieces, the more intricate your braid will be.
2. A Tousled Ponytail Hairstyle
Here’s how you do a tousled ponytail. Start with backcombing both the front and back sections of your locks and pull it back to a mid or low ponytail. Pull out a few strands of the front pieces and then twist them around your fingers. You can also use a curling iron if you like. Just put it on low heat setting to get that messy-chic look. Now mist the top of your pony with just a few sprays of dry shampoo to get a little more texture and eliminate any oil residue. Now pick the ponytail up and then drop it slowly while lightly misting it with hairspray for that extra volume. This will also help hold your hair in place.
3. A Messy Bun + a Chic Headscarf Hairstyle
This hairstyle is a classic. For this do, start with pulling your hair into a loose ponytail. Forget about using a hairbrush or making it look perfect. For this style, you are going for that effortless feel. The next step is to separate your locks into 3 parts. Tease each part. Once done teasing each section, wrap your hair around the bottom of your ponytail. You’ll need bobby pins to secure your hair in place. Don’t worry about having messy pieces fraying around your bun. That’s what you want to get that kind of undone effect. Finish things off by using your favorite headscarf to wrap your do. You can tie the scarf up at the bottom of your neck or at the top of your head.
