How do you care for your skin? Most women always ask this question to each other and sure enough the answers vary. The skin should be cared for as this is our body’s first line of defence. The skin protects us from harsh and harmful elements and everyday the skin receives a great battering in doing so.

The appearance of your skin also speaks much about your health in general and your personal hygiene. You definitely don’t want to have all sorts of sickness because you are not taking care of your body which the skin would show. Of course there are some factors that we can not control when it comes to how our skin looks like. Two of these things would be genes and hormones. Many women suffer from chemical imbalances because of hormonal changes which result to skin breakouts or acne. But there are ways to address these skin issues.

How to Take Care of the Skin

  1. Visit a dermatologist! This is the most important step in skin care which many women choose to ignore. Some would reason out that going to a dermatologist would be expensive while some would say they just don’t have the time. A dermatologist can actually save you hundreds to thousands of dollars. He or she can actually recommend to you skin care products that would work best for your skin type avoiding you from buying skin care products that would do nothing good to your skin and worse even harm it. Your skin doctor can also advice you how to properly care for your skin and offer some adjustments on your skin care routine for best results. For people who say that they just don’t have the time, this reasoning is unbelievable. There are 365 and 1/4 days in a year and it would not even take half of an entire day to visit your skin doctor. Your skin doctor would also check your skin for telltale signs of skin cancer. Skin cancer when diagnosed early generally has good prognosis. Leave a space on your planner for a visit to the skin doctor at least once a year.
  2. Protect the skin from the sun every single day! The sun’s Ultra Violet rays top the list of elements most damaging to the skin. It speeds up the process of skin aging by destroying DNA and collagen which results to wrinkles and dryness of the skin. The UV rays from the sun also cause skin cancer. Every time you go outdoors, wear a hat, use an umbrella and be sure that you have lathered onto your skin a sunscreen lotion with an SPF of 15 or higher. Apply it to your skin at least 15 minutes before going outside.
  3. Apply moisturiser to your skin daily! Your skin is stripped off its essential oils which serve as its protective layer, everyday from exposure to elements and washing. Bring back your skin’s moisture with Argan oil. Argan oil is loaded with Sterols that help lock in moisture and keep the skin nourished. It is as well packed with Vitamin E and antioxidants, which prevent skin aging.
