How Does Avocado Benefit the Skin?

Avocados have the ability to minimize the appearance of age spots as well as reduce signs of skin aging. The fruit also helps in healing dry skin and is a good natural treatment for eczema. What’s the secret behind avocado’s skin beautifying prowess?

Avocados are packed with high amounts of sterolins which is a protein that has been proven to minimize the appearance of age spots, scars as well as sun damage. Sterolins are also a potent moisturizer making avocados an ideal ingredient in skin moisturizers for people suffering from dry flaky skin as well as those dealing with the skin condition called eczema.

Avocados also have the ability to increase the amount of collagen in the skin. Collagen is the protein responsible for giving the skin its structure, firmness and elasticity. As we age, we start losing collagen which results to wrinkles, fine lines and saggy skin. Avocados can slow down the aging process helping the skin look and feel more youthful for a longer time.
