Do You Really Have No Time to Exercise?

Exercising regularly greatly benefits our health. It boosts the immune system. improves circulation, cuts down one’s risk of cardiovascular diseases, relieves stress, plus it helps improve the skin. With all of the immense health benefits of regular exercise, it is quite surprising that many of us still don’t exercise.

The most common excuse uttered is “I have no time”. It is true that most of us have a busy schedule but is getting at least a 30-minute to an hour exercise such an impossible feat? Or do most of us just throw out this convenient excuse? And perhaps because many of us have been using this excuse that it started ringing true.

Since, we are starting out a new year, why don’t you try out some new thing or perhaps challenge yourself to making it a point to exercise at least 30 minutes a day.

Here are a few things you can do so you can get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day.

  1. Wake up at least 40 minutes earlier.
    There’s a lot of things you can do if you wake up at least 40 minutes earlier than your usual wake-up time. You can spend the first 5 minutes waking yourself up. Now you still have 35 minutes in your hands. Pretty good time to sneak in an exercise routine.You can go out for a run or you can walk around your neighborhood for half an hour. If it’s too cold, too dark still or you just don’t want to exercise outdoors, then do your exercise routine indoors. Do some stretches, some crunches and lunges. If you have no idea what to do for your exercise routine, there are plenty of exercise DVDs that you can buy or rent out then just play it and simply follow along.If your work is just near or within 30 minutes of walking, then go ahead and walk to work. If you have a bike, then start pushing the pedals. It is best to research the best bike route to take to your work and of course make sure that your bike is in good working order before doing this.
  2. Take the stairs.
    Yes, elevators are convenient especially when you are carrying something really heavy. But most of us are just too lazy that we take the lift even if we only have to walk a few plight of stairs. If you work on the second, third or fourth floor, why not take the stairs? If you work on the 20th something floor, taking the stairs after work hours is also a good idea. You can always take the lift once you get too tired.
  3. Bike or walk to the grocery store and bring a backpack.
    If you do your groceries weekly, then this is a great opportunity for you to get some exercise. Instead of driving to the grocery store, ride your bike or just walk. It would be a good idea to bring a backpack with you too so it would be easier for you to carry the things you bought going home.
