  1. It is imperative for you to apply sunscreen lotion every day. Many people still have this misconception that sunscreen lotion is only used when on the beach or just during the summer season. It is actually every time that you go out of your house that you need to lather on sunscreen lotion. Use sunscreen lotion with SPF 15 or higher and apply to all exposed skin at least 15 minutes before heading out the door. You should also wear as much protective clothing as possible. We all know that summer time is the season of people shedding off as much clothes as possible however if you are on the beach and you are not swimming yet, wear your shirt, sunglasses and summer hat. It is also best to stay indoors during hours when the sun is at its strongest.
  2. Immediately wash off sea salts and chlorine with tap water. After enjoying swimming in the sea or doing laps in the pool immediately rinse off with tap water. This removes the sea salts and chlorine that dries out the skin. Dry skin is more prone to damage.
  3. Moisturise the skin daily. The Argan oil should be your number one pick in skin moisturisers. Not only does it have Sterols to lock in moisture to the skin it is also loaded with essential fatty acids and Vitamin E that keeps the skin healthy. It also has high concentration of Ferulic acid and Carotenoids as well as other antioxidants that prevent skin aging by protecting the skin from getting damaged by the elements.
  4. Stay away from alcoholic drinks and cigarettes. Everyone loves to party and parties in the summer time are pouring! If you can’t avoid drinking alcohol at least minimise your consumption. If you smoke you should seriously think about quitting and if you don’t smoke stay away from smokers.
