Home Remedies for Troublesome Acne

Some people experience acne gone wild during the winter season. Acne can be really embarassing and although some people may point out that you are too vain to worry about a simple skin problem, they themselves are not too happy and welcoming with the thought of having pimples or acne on their faces. There are many factors that can cause acne and when people have acne breakouts, it seems that they don’t have much control about the rendezvouz of pimples happening on their face. The best thing that you can do when you are experiencing acne breakout is to seek the help of a dermatologist. A dermatologist is an expert of the skin and he or she can recommend and carry out effective treatments for acne. But most of us prefer to treat acne on our own for many reasons. Here are some simple acne treatments you can do.
  • Apply Argan oil to your face– You can use Argan oil on your face to give the skin the essential nutrients it needs. This oil contains Vitamin E and essential unsaturated fatty acids that help nourish the skin and aid in cell repair and regeneration.Acne scars can also be prevented with Argan oil. Most of the nutrients needed by the skin are found in this oil. One of the great things about the oil is that it is mild and gentle to the skin.
  • Honey mask – You can give your face a honey mask at least once in a week. Honey is a potent antibacterial which can help disinfect minor blemishes. If you have sensitive skin, you can still make use of the honey mask as this is mild and gentle to the skin.
  • Soap for Acne – You should get a soap especially formulated to treat acne. An acne soap is usually sulfur based. Wash your face twice in a day with the acne soap. Twice a day means once in the morning and once before retiring to bed.Remember to go gentle on your skin when you wash it. No scrubbing and do not let any rough material touch your face when washing. You should also not overwash your face as this can only lead to your skin drying out which would cause a counter reaction of the sebaceous glands overproducing oil or sebum which leads to more acne.
  • Hands off and hair off your face – Do not touch and worse prick your acne. This can just cause further infection thus inflamming your pimples. Pricking can also lead to deep scars. You should also remember that your hands touch almost everything which means that it can have dirt and dust that would worsen your acne.It is also best that you sport a short hair cut to avoid your hair from touching your face. Your hair can have dust and dirt that would further irritate your acne.
These are just some of the home treatments you can do to combat acne breakouts. You should also see to it that you sleep right, eat right and avoid stressing out to effectively fight acne.
