Many of us walk into the doors of nail salons to have nail issues fixed. Although most nail salons can rescue us from nail disasters and they can give us some good pampering, they do ring up a huge bill when you start adding things up. Good thing there are simple homemade nail soaks that can solve numerous nail issues. You’ll end up with a set of beautiful nails and with more money in your pocket.
We have listed down soaks that you can easily concoct at home for various nail issues.
A Soak to Remove Nail Stains
Do you have yellow or stained nails? Here’s a stain remover soak that you can easily do in your own home. This soak uses only one ingredient and you probably have it in your first aid kit. What is it? Hydrogen peroxide. Simply apply hydrogen peroxide on cotton balls and then let each nail bed have a cotton ball sitting on them for about 3-5 minutes then rinse your nails well with water. Because hydrogen can dry out the nails, it is best to apply a cuticle oil afterwards. An excellent choice is the Argan oil since it has potent moisturizing prowess and comes with antioxidants that protect the nails from damage. Use the hydrogen soak treatment only once a week to prevent your nails from drying.
Another Stain Remover Soak
If you want to whiten your nails, here is an excellent soak that would do the job. You’ll need 4 tablespoons of lemon juice and 3 tablespoons of warm water. Grab a bowl and simply mix in the lemon juice and water and then submerge your nails in it. Let your nails soak for about 10 minutes or until all the stains are gone. Rinse well with water and apply cuticle oil.
A Soak to Strengthen Your Nails
Are you suffering from weak and brittle nails? Here is a soak that will strengthen your nails. You will need 2 beaten egg yolks, a quarter cup of milk and a tablespoon of honey. Grab a bowl and mix all of the ingredients then soak your nails of about 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your nails well and apply cuticle oil such as
Argan oil on them. The protein from the eggs and the calcium from milk will surely give your nails that strength they need.
A Fruity Alternative
Love drinking fruit juice? Your nails will love them too! For this super strengthening soak, you will need a packet of gelatin and just a teaspoon of warm fruit juice. Simply mix the two ingredients in a bowl and soak your nails in it for about 10 to 15 minutes. Use this soak once a month and you’ll be surprised just how stronger your nails have become.
