Finally the spring season is here and we say hello to warmer weather. Well at least for some of us. I just saw a post of my friend from Washington that it’s snowing down there. It seems that our climate is really changing. I am grateful that where I am spring has finally decided to grace us with its presence.
Most people’s priorities when spring comes are to clean out the closet, put away winter coats and winter boots, tend to the garden, give away or sell old clothes and just start anew. It is true that the spring season seems to get many of us moving. After a long slumber the world awakens and bursts with colours. I believe this is the reason why many of us feel so energised during this season.
With all that spring cleaning occupying your mind, you may have forgotten about caring for your skin. You should know that the cold season does much damage to your skin. If you did not look after your skin that much last season you should start caring more now.
During the winter season, the biting cold outside, heating indoors, strong winds and the sun’s Ultra Violet rays are your worst enemies. I mentioned here the sun’s UV rays as many people seem to forget that the sun still shines during the winter season and no matter how overcast it is the sun’s UV rays still penetrate through. If you did not bother to apply sunscreen lotion the entire winter season, your skin most definitely received harsh battering.
Spring Skin Care
Bring your skin back to health with the following skin care tips!
- Exfoliate – During the cold season, circulation of oxygen and nutrients slows down. This means that your skin is not able to shed off old skin cells at a normal rate. What happens is there is a buildup of these skin cells on the surface which explains why many suffer from dry and rough skin during the cold season. Exfoliate at least twice a week.
- Moisturise – Bring moisture back to your skin. Get rid of your old moisturiser and use the Moroccan Argan oil instead. This oil is a potent skin moisturiser. It also can delay the signs of skin aging, minimise fine lines, stretch marks and wrinkles, fight acne and acne scars and keep the skin healthy. The reason why it works so well on the skin is because of its nutrients. It is packed with Vitamin E, unsaturated essential fatty acids, Sterols, Polyphenols, Ferulic acid and numerous other antioxidants that are beneficial to the skin.
- Wear Sunscreen Lotion – During spring time, you may be going outdoors more often than you did last season. Be sure to wear sunscreen protection with at least 30 SPF everytime you head out!
