Acne is a troublesome word. Although this skin condition is not in any way life-threatening, it can have some negative impact in one’s confidence. Most of us have had to deal with acne during our teenage years and some are more unfortunate than most people having to deal with this skin problem all over again even in adulthood.
What Causes Acne
Much have been said about what causes acne. Hormonal imbalance, pollution and dirt are some of the most popular factors that are blamed for skin break outs. Allergies, stress, diet, unhealthy lifestyle and improper or the lack of skin care are among the factors that can worsen acne.
One skin care product that has been showered with grand praises is the Moroccan Argan oil. The oil is popularly called “the miracle oil” as many have attested to its wonderful benefits to the skin, hair and nails. Much of its popularity is also because of its ability to effectively fight skin aging. It is a fact that many of us would want to hold on to our youthful look for the longest time possible. But is this miracle also able to fight acne?
Can Moroccan Argan Oil Fight Acne?
This is probably the most important question that anyone with acne would ask about the so called miracle oil. A number of Argan oil users have reported that the oil helps in addressing their acne problem. However, it is important to note that there is very little scientific study done on the oil’s effectiveness against acne. The evidence on Argan oil’s effectiveness against this skin condition is anecdotal or simply based on what people using the oil say.
What You Should Know About Argan Oil
Argan oil is a great skin care product. It contains a high amount of Vitamin E which helps in keeping the skin moisturized. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant. Antioxidants are known to protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals. Further study is being done on the effects of antioxidants when applied topically on the skin. It is no surprising that many skin care products now boast of containing antioxidants in its ingredients such as Vitamins E, C, and A. Vitamin E has also been long known to promote wound healing and minimize scarring. Regular application of Argan oil may help in minimizing or reducing the appearance of acne scars since the oil contains a high amount of vitamin E.
When you have acne, here are a few things to remember.

- Keep your skin clean. Dirt, oil, and grime can worsen acne. Wash your face at most twice a day. Once when you wake up in the morning and before going to bed.
- Avoid wearing make-up. Make-up can irritate your skin and worsen your acne problem.
