Simple Yet Thorough Hair Care Routine
Your Choice of Shampoo
Men would probably say that a shampoo is a shampoo but the truth is there are different shampoos for different hair types. If you think that this is yet another marketing ploy then you need to shut down your cynical view and actually take this in as a fact. Different shampoos have been formulated with ingredients that will solve specific hair problems such as too oily hair and dry hair. If you have dry hair, choose a shampoo containing oils or humectants. A clarifying shampoo is best suited for those having too greasy hair. Clarifying shampoos will usually have in its ingredients tea tree oil, rosemary, chamomile and other degreasers. If you have brittle hair choose a shampoo with proteins such as collagen and keratin in its ingredients.
Massage Your Scalp
When shampooing your hair, make sure that you gently give your scalp a massage. Get your fingers into a spider-like shape and with the balls of your fingertips massage your scalp. Most of the oils of the hair are found near the scalp so it is important that you do not skip massaging the shampoo into the scalp especially if you have extra greasy hair.
Condition Your Hair
Condition your hair with products that have potent moisturising properties. The Moroccan Argan oil is a great hair conditioner as it contains several nutrients having strong moisturising properties. It holds essential fatty acids, Sterols and Vitamin E which all have moisturising properties. Vitamin E is also known to repair damaged hair and protect it from damaging factors. Essential fatty acids also serve as nourishment for the pores and roots of hair. You can use the Moroccan Argan oil as a regular conditioner in the shower or as a deep conditioner. To deep condition the hair, apply the oil on wet hair by gently massaging it into the scalp and cover your head with a warm towel. Leave overnight then rinse off in the morning.
Drying Your Hair
It is best to blot dry the hair. But if you would be blow drying your hair, have the dryer set on the cool setting.
Have the Right Hair Tools
Use a brush with natural bristles and if you have curly hair a wide-toothed comb is more advisable. It is also best to use a wide-toothed comb when the hair wet and when easing out tangles.
