Argan oil is very popular for its anti-aging benefits. It is also well loved for its wonderful benefits to the skin and hair. But did you know that it is also beneficial to your nails?
Not many pay attention to their nails and when we do shower our nails with attention, it is usually with a nail clipper and or a nails polish. Trimmed and polish nails do look lovely but nails need more than just your trusty pair of clippers and your colourful bottles of polishes.
With the many things we use our nails for, it is quite surprising that we don’t give them the care that they deserve. Nails actually serve as protection for the soft skin underneath them and we have been using them for quite a lot of things. We use nails to scratch an itch, in typing, scraping off and even in opening envelopes, packages and cans of soda. We tap them on surfaces when we’re bored or agitated and sometimes we use them as our defence against people who would want to harm us. The list can go on and on about what we use our nails for and I have only listed a few of them.
Caring for Your Nails with Argan Oil
Caring for your nails is not just about making them colourful. The truth is many bottles of polishes actually contain toxic ingredients that would not just make the nails brittle but also harm our health. Aside from this, polishes can actually dry out the nails. Dry nails are prone to splitting, breakage and chipping. It is safe to say that most of us do not want having to sport crackes, chipped, broken or split nails. Having such nails is not only not too pleasant to look at, they are also very uncomfortable.
The Moroccan Argan oil is one product that should be in your nail care kit. The oil is loaded with Vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Vitamin E strengthens the nails and protect them from damage. The oil’s essential fatty acids also conditions and moisturises the cuticles. Healthy nail growth is also promoted by the oil.
How to Use Argan Oil on Your Nails
To strengthen and keep nails moisturise, regularly coat your nails with Argan oil, that simple! You can also choose to mix an equal amount of lemon and the oil and dip your hands in this mix for about 15-20 minutes. Make sure that all parts of your nails are dipped in the mixture. The oil can also be used as a foot soak. Not only will you be strenghtening and moisturising your nails, you will also be softening the hard skin on your heels and soles. All you need is a few drops of the oil and a basin filled with lukewarm water!
